If you’re dealing with a fresh sparkling wine stain on your shearling item, you’ll want to start by blotting away as much of liquid as possible with a clean, white cloth. Do not rub or scrub at stain, as this can cause the fabric to become damaged and the stain to set in even more.

Next, you’ll want to create a cleaning solution by mixing together one tablespoon of dishwashing detergent with two cups of warm water. Dip a clean cloth into this solution and blot at stain until it begins to lighten. Make sure you’re using a cloth that won’t damage your shearling garment.

Once your stain has faded, rinse out the cleaning solution with cold water. You’ll want to use a gentle stream of water, rather than soaking fabric. After rinsing, press dry the area with a clean, white cloth.

Finally, air dry your shearling item in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight or heat, as these can cause the fabric to fade. Once dry, your shearling garment should look good as new!
