Step 1: Blot the Stain Immediately

As soon as you realize that sparkling wine has spilled on your robe, start by blotting up the excess liquid with a clean, dry cloth. Don't rub or scrub stain; this may spread it further and make it harder to remove.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent with one cup of cold water, and use this solution to soak a clean cloth. Blot the stained area with the cloth and let it sit for 10 minutes. This should help to break down the stain before it sets.

Step 3: Rinse the Stain

Rinse the stained area with cold water, and continue to blot gently until most of the soap and stain is removed. Never put the robe in a washing machine before rinsing off any pre-treating solution, as this can cause the stain to set.

Step 4: Soak Robe

Fill a bucket or sink with cold water and mix in a teaspoon of mild liquid detergent. Submerge the stained area of robe and let it soak for an hour. This should help to loosen and lift stain from the fabric.

Step 5: Wash and Dry

Finally, rinse the area thoroughly and place robe in your washing machine with a gentle detergent. Use the gentle cycle and cold water setting. Hang robe outside or in a warm room to dry, but avoid direct sunlight as this can cause fading.
