First, remove any excess liquid from the stain as soon as possible. You can do this by blotting with a clean towel or cloth - do not rub or scrub stain! Rubbing or scrubbing will only push the stain further into fabric, making it harder to remove.
Combine ¼ cup of white vinegar, ¼ cup of mild laundry detergent, 1 ½ cups of warm water, and 1 tablespoon of borax, if desired, in a bowl. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
Soak a cleaning cloth in the mixture and apply to the stained area. Blot the area repeatedly until stain is gradually lightened. Continue to add more of the mixture as needed to keep the cloth damp.
Once stain has been uniformly lightened or completely lifted, use a clean cloth or towel dipped in cold water to rinse the area. Blot again to absorb any remaining moisture.
Once the pet bed is completely dry, use vacuum cleaner to gently lift any remaining fibers that may have come loose during the cleaning process. This will help restore original look of pet bed.
