Step One: Blot Out Any Excess Liquid

Using a clean, white cloth, blot the area around the stain to absorb any excess liquid still on the fabric. If the stain is on a wooden piece of furniture, use a dry cloth. Avoid using too much pressure as this may spread the stain further onto the fabric or furniture.

Step Two: Use White Vinegar and Baking Soda

Once the excess liquid has been absorbed, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda around the stained area. Create a paste by mixing equal parts of vinegar and baking soda and apply it over the stain. Allow paste to dry completely and then wipe off with a damp cloth.

Step Three: Wash with Soap and Water

Fill a bowl with warm water and add a few drops of everyday dish soap. Dip a sponge into the solution and rub it gently into the stained area. Make sure to avoid using too much pressure as this can cause stain to spread. Rinse the area with clean water after scrubbing and pat it dry with a clean cloth.

Step Four: Try a Stain Remover

If the stain still remains after the first three steps, try using a commercial stain remover. Choose one that is specifically designed for outdoor furniture and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer. In general, stain removers usually require you to apply the solution on the stain, let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water.
