What You'll Need

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Paper towels
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Cotton swabs

Steps to Take

  1. Once you've noticed the stain, it is important to act immediately. Use a paper towel to absorb as much of liquid as possible.
  2. Saturate a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and gently dab the stained area.
  3. Continue blotting until the sparkling wine is no longer visible. The rubbing alcohol will also help reduce the smell.
  4. If stain is still present, use a cotton swab soaked in hydrogen peroxide and apply directly to the stain.
  5. Allow the hydrogen peroxide to sit for up to 15 minutes before wiping it away with a dry cloth.

Additional Tips:

  • Be sure to avoid scrubbing or vigorously rubbing the stain as this may cause damage to the fabric of the shoe.
  • For tougher stains, you can try mixing one part detergent with five parts water and gently dab at the stain with a cloth.
  • If the stain is still present after following these steps, it is best to seek professional cleaning services.
