Materials Needed

  • An enzyme-based laundry detergent or a detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics
  • A cloth or rag
  • White vinegar

Instructions

  1. If the stain is fresh, absorb and blot as much of the spill up as possible with a cloth or rag. Don't rub area, as doing so could spread stain.
  2. Create a solution of 1 part enzyme-based laundry detergent to 3 parts water. Use this mixture to coat the stained area of fabric. Allow the mixture to sit on the stain for 10 minutes.
  3. Rinse area with lukewarm water.
  4. Once the stain is gone, thoroughly rinse the area one more time to remove any residue from the detergent.
  5. If the stain persists, create a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. Use a cloth or rag to saturate the stained area with solution. Allow the solution to remain on the fabric for at least 5 minutes.
  6. Rinse area with lukewarm water. You may need to repeat the process until the stain is completely removed.

Conclusion

Sparkling wine stains on macramé don’t have to be permanent. With an enzyme-based detergent or a delicate fabric cleaner and some white vinegar, you can restore your fabric to its original condition in no time.
