If you've recently found yourself with sparkling wine stains on your loafers, start by lightly blotting the stain with a clean, damp cloth. You don't want to rub the fabric as this may spread stain further.

Once you've blotted the excess liquid, create a paste of baking soda and water to treat the stain. Apply the paste directly to the stain and leave to rest for 10 minutes. After it's rested, take a clean cloth and gently rub the affected area in a circular motion.

If the stain persists, try dabbing a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and let it sit for an hour. After an hour, rinse away the paste and repeat the steps again if necessary.

Finally, use a mild, delicate detergent to wash both sides of the fabric, and hang to dry. Don't forget to check both sides of the fabric to make sure all the stains have vanished.
