Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step is to remove as much sparkling wine as possible from your lawn. To do this, use an absorbent material, such as a paper towel or cloth, to blot the stain. Be sure to press down firmly to absorb as much of liquid as possible. Avoid scrubbing stain, as this may further spread the wine.

Step 2: Apply Dish Soap or Baking Soda

Once you have blotted up as much of the wine as possible, the next step is to apply either dish soap or baking soda to the stain. For dish soap, lather a small amount onto the stain and let it sit for 10–15 minutes. Baking soda can be scattered over the stain and will help neutralize any remaining acidity. Let the baking soda sit for an hour before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Rinse With Water and Allow The Lawn to Dry

After letting soap or baking soda sit, rinse area with water and let lawn dry completely. If the stain is still visible after drying, mix equal parts vinegar and water and apply solution to the affected area. Then, let solution sit for a few hours before rinsing and allowing the lawn to dry.

Step 4: Apply Grass Seed

This final step is optional but recommended. Once you are sure the stain has been removed and the area has dried completely, you may want to apply grass seed to the affected area. This will help thicken the grass and make it easier to maintain in the long run.

And That’s it!

By following these steps, you can easily remove sparkling wine stains from your lawn. Just be sure to act quickly, as fresh stains are much easier to remove than older ones!
