What You'll Need to Remove a Sparkling Wine Stain
- Detergent
- White Vinegar
- Borax
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Ammonia
- Rags
Step-by-Step Instructions
- As soon as possible after spill, blot stain with a clean cloth to remove as much of the liquid as possible. Don’t rub or scrub the stain, as this will only make it worse.
- Make a paste out of 1 part detergent and 1 part white vinegar, and use it to lightly massage stain. Leave the paste on the stain for about 10 minutes.
- Wash the fabric with cold water and detergent. If the stain persists, mix 2 tablespoons of Borax into 1 quart of warm water and use it to soak the joggers for at least an hour.
- If the stain is still visible after soaking, make a paste out of 3 parts hydrogen peroxide, 1 part ammonia, and 1 part detergent and apply it to the stain. Let the paste sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse away the remainder with cold water.
- When you’re sure the stain is gone, wash your joggers one final time to ensure all residue has been removed. Air-dry them completely before wearing.
