Before you start cleaning, make sure you have all the necessary supplies. These include a few old towels, white vinegar, baking soda, dishwashing liquid, hydrogen peroxide, and a clean cloth.
For fabrics such as clothing or furniture covers, act quickly when you spot the stain. If you can, move the item near a sink so you can rinse it with cold water to slow down the staining process.
Assuming the item isn't too delicate, begin scrubbing by pouring a generous amount of baking soda onto the stain and rubbing it in with a clean cloth. Leave the baking soda on the stain for 30 minutes, then use cold water to rinse it away.
If the stain has not been removed, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in a bowl. Dip the clean cloth into the solution and press it into the stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water. Repeat the process until the stain has been lifted.
When it comes to carpets and rugs, you may have to use a more rigorous method to remove the stain. Begin by blotting the affected area with a damp cloth to soak up any excess liquid.
Mix one teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide with one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to form a paste. Apply the paste directly over the stain and let it sit for half an hour. Rinse the area with cold water and use a dry cloth to blot the area until all moisture has been absorbed.
Cleaning up after a sparkling wine accident doesn’t have to be difficult. With these simple tips, you can get stain out and enjoy the party without worrying about lingering reminders.
