How to Clean Sparkling Wine Stains from Handbags and Purses:
- Check stain's type and size – The first step is to identify the type and size of stain. If stain looks like a ring, use a mild detergent or warm water and soap solution.
- Soak the stain – Next, soak the stained area in the cleaning solution for 5 to 10 minutes. Make sure to rinse fabric thoroughly in cold water afterwards.
- Prepare stain remover – Now it's time to prepare a stain remover by combining 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 2 teaspoons of dishwashing liquid in a bowl.
- Apply stain remover – Apply the stain remover to the stained area and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then use a cloth to blot the area until the stain is gone.
- Rinse with warm water – Once stain is gone, rinse the area with warm water and let it air dry. Do not wring out the fabric as this may cause further damage.
Tips and Warnings:
- Always check fabric care instructions before treating the stain.
- For tougher stains, use a stronger cleaning solution, such as hydrogen peroxide or ammonia.
- Test cleaning solutions on a hidden part of the handbag or purse before treating stain.
- Never rub the fabric, as this may cause further damage and spread the stain.
