What to do Before You Start Cleaning
When you notice a sparkling wine stain on gingham fabric, don’t panic. First, assess the damage and decide if stain is light or dark. If it’s light, it’s likely fixable. If it’s deep, the chances of removal may be slim but you can still try the following steps.
Step by Step Guide for Eliminating a Sparkling Wine Stain from Gingham
- As soon as possible, scoop up as much of the liquid from the fabric as you can. Place a white cloth under the fabric and gently wipe away any remaining liquid.
- Once the fabric is dry, apply a stain remover intended for gingham such as Vanish. Be sure to read and follow all instructions on product packaging carefully.
- Leave the stain remover on the fabric for the suggested amount of time before washing it in warm water. Use a mild detergent. Do not use bleach.
- Once fully washed and dried, inspect the fabric. If you still see some discoloration, repeat steps 1-3 until it is removed.
