Sparkling wine can be a beautiful addition to a romantic wedding or celebration, but it can leave behind pesky stains on your outfit afterwards. Fortunately, cleaning these types of stains from your garter is easy when you know what to do.

What Supplies Should You Have?

Before you start the cleaning process, make sure you have all the supplies you need in order to make the stain removal process easier. Here are the items we recommend having:

  • Cotton swabs
  • White cloth
  • Mild detergent
  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Baking soda

Step-by-Step Guide

The following steps will help you clean sparkling wine stains from your garter with ease:

  1. Begin by using a cotton swab to absorb as much of the moisture from stain as possible. Use a dabbing motion rather than a rubbing action to avoid smearing the stain further.
  2. Once you’ve absorbed as much of the moisture as possible, blot remaining areas with a white cloth.
  3. Mix equal parts mild detergent and distilled white vinegar in a bowl and apply it to stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Rinse the area thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  5. If there is still staining, create a paste using baking soda and water and gently rub it over the affected area. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes and then rinse again with lukewarm water.

Once the stain is removed, let the garter air dry and it should look good as new!
