What You Will Need

  • A small bowl or cup
  • Cold water
  • White vinegar
  • Dishwashing liquid

Instructions For Removing A Sparkling Wine Stain

  1. Mix equal parts of cold water and white vinegar in a bowl or cup.
  2. Soak a clean white cloth in the mixture.
  3. Blot the stain with the cloth. Do not rub, as this will cause stain to spread.
  4. If the stain still persists, mix together a solution of one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid, one teaspoon of borax powder, one teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of salt in one cup of cold water.
  5. Soak a clean, white cloth in the mixture.
  6. Blot stain with the cloth.
  7. Rinse area with cold water and blot dry with a clean white cloth.
  8. If the stain is still present, repeat Steps 3-7 until the stain is completely removed.

Additional Tips

  • It is best to attend to stain as soon as possible, as old stains are harder to remove.
  • Allow the stained area to air-dry before washing the garment.
  • Be sure to read the care instructions on the garment label before attempting to wash it.
