There's no reason to get nervous; we've put together an easy guide to remove your sparkling wine stain from your chinos. Follow these simple steps and you’ll soon have your pants looking as good as new!
First things first – protect the rest of your clothing or fabric by blotting up any excess liquid with a clean cloth. Don't rub, as this will further spread stain. Dab in a gentle motion until the stain has been absorbed into the cloth.
Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of club soda (or plain carbonated water) in a bowl. Using a damp cloth, dab the mixture onto the stain in a circular motion. After a couple minutes, you should be able to see the stain lightening.
Now that the stain is lighter, you can begin to wash the fabric as normal. Place the chinos in the washing machine with a mild detergent and a cold water setting. Let full cycle finish and voila – your trousers should be back to their former glory.
Before using any of the cleaning methods described above, make sure to test it on a small, inconspicuous area of chinos. This will help you determine whether or not it is suitable for the fabric without fear of causing any damage.
