The first step in removing a sparkling wine stain from Chantilly lace is to blot the stained area with a clean white cloth. Do not rub or scrub the stained area, as this can spread the stain further. The goal is to absorb as much of the spilled wine as possible, without spreading the stain.
Once you have blotted up as much of the wine stain as possible, you can begin the cleaning process by applying a stain remover. Choose a product that is specifically designed for removing wine stains – these can be found in the detergent aisle of your local grocery store. Follow the instructions on the label, and be sure to use only a small amount of stain remover.
Once you have applied the stain remover, let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing it out with cold water. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is no longer visible. When the stain has been removed, hang Chantilly lace up to dry.
