The first step is to use a paper towel or sponge to blot up as much of the sparkling wine as possible. Use a clean cloth and apply pressure to ensure that you are getting out as much of the liquid as possible. If the stain is still present, move on to the next step.
The next step is to treat the stain with a mild detergent or detergent specifically designed for removing wine stains. Start by dampening the area with cold water and then apply the detergent. Rub the detergent into the fabric in a gentle, circular motion. Let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water.
To further remove the stain, create a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts cold water and apply it to the affected area. Make sure to saturate the fabric and let it sit for about five minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
If the stain is still present, you can try rinsing the area with cold water and applying detergent and vinegar solution again. You may need to repeat this a few times until the stain is completely removed.
Finally, once the stain is gone, put the dress in the washing machine on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Hang it to dry or use the low setting on your dryer.
