First, you need to identify the fabric of your garment. If it’s made of cotton, linen, or wool, you can use a mild detergent and cold water. Use a small brush and gently brush the stain in a circular motion. Before washing it, make sure to test cleaning solution on a hidden area of the fabric first to make sure it won’t damage the material.

If it’s a silk Alexander McQueen piece, however, you have to be more careful. Opt for a stain remover specifically made for silk fabrics. You can either pre-treat the stain with a fabric-safe stain remover, or mix two tablespoons of dishwashing liquid with cold water and apply it to the affected area. Again, use a soft brush to work the mixture into the fabric before rinsing the garment in cold water.

Once the stain is gone, you should let the garment air-dry. Avoid putting it in the dryer as heat can set the stain and make it more difficult to remove. Also, make sure to read the care information on the label before trying any of these methods. Some materials may require special cleaning treatments.

The best way to prevent staining your Alexander McQueen pieces is to be extra careful when enjoying a glass of sparkling wine. Keep your outfit away from splashes and spills. If you are feeling extra daring, you can use a white napkin or lightly sprayed your garment with a stain protector before the event.
