The first step to removing a sparkling wine stain from acrylic is to identify the type of stain you’re dealing with. Is it a dried-on stain or one that is still wet? Dried-on stains generally require more effort and stronger cleaning agents. Once you know what kind of stain you’re dealing with, you can begin the removal process.
You will need some basic cleaning supplies to remove a sparkling wine stain from acrylic. These include a scrub brush, dishwashing liquid, white vinegar, and paper towels.
Using the scrub brush and dishwashing liquid, gently scrub stain away. Make sure to read the instructions on the bottle to ensure proper use. Remember to be gentle and avoid using too much pressure, as this could cause damage to the acrylic.
Once you’ve removed as much of the stain as possible with the brush and dishwashing liquid, you can apply a white vinegar solution to break down the remaining stain. To make a solution, mix two parts water with one part white vinegar. Dip a clean cloth into the solution and gently dab the stained area. Let it sit for up to ten minutes and then wipe it away with a damp cloth.
Finally, wipe away any residue with a damp paper towel. Make sure it is completely dry before doing anything else with the acrylic.
Cleaning sparkling wine stains off of acrylic can be a time-consuming task. But with the right supplies and technique, it can be done relatively quickly and easily. Next time you have a sparkling wine stain on your acrylic, simply follow the four steps outlined above to restore it to its original condition.
