As soon as you realize that you've spilled sparkling wine on your clothing, grab a clean cloth or paper towel and blot excess liquid away. Don't rub it in! Blotting will help to prevent the stain from setting.
Once you've blotted away the excess liquid, take a squirt of liquid detergent and rub it into stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it away with cold water.
If the stain persists after the detergent treatment, it's time to break out white vinegar. Dilute a quarter cup of white vinegar in a quart of cold water, then dab the mixture onto the stain. Wait 10 minutes and then rinse the vinegar away with cold water.
Finally, put your garment into the washing machine and wash it as usual. Hang to dry afterwards - never put white-wine stained clothes in dryer.
To remove sparkling wine stains, first blot the excess liquid away with a clean cloth. Next, pretreat the stain with liquid detergent and rinse. If necessary, use a diluted mix of white vinegar and cold water to further treat stain. Finally, wash the garment as usual and hang to dry.
