Soy sauce stains can be especially difficult to remove since they usually include both an oil component and a protein that have set into the fabric. The best way to remove soy sauce stains from white tie is to address each part of the stain and then finish job with a washing machine cycle.

What You Will Need:

  • Dish soap
  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • Bucket
  • White cloth
  • Absorbent cloth/paper towels

Instructions:

  1. Mix 1 teaspoon of dish soap with 2 cups of lukewarm water. Dip a white cloth into the mixture and saturate stained area.

  4. Once the stain has been blotted away, rinse the area with cold water.
  5. Fill a bucket with enough water to cover the stained area and add 2 teaspoons of liquid laundry detergent.
  6. Soak the tie in the bucket for 30 minutes.
  7. Rinse the tie with cold water and hang dry.
