It can be incredibly embarrassing when your favorite pair of underwear or boxers are splashed with soy sauce. Not to mention, it’s a challenge to get the stain out! The good news is that it’s possible to remove the stain if you know the right steps to take. Here’s a guide on how to efficiently clean soy sauce stains from your underwear.
As soon as the accident occurs, the first step is to flush the stain with cold water. This will help prevent the soy sauce from setting into the fabric. To do this, fill a sink with cold water and submerge garment completely. Allow it to soak for 5 minutes before moving onto the next step.
After soaking garment in cold water, you’ll need to pre-treat stain. To do this, simply spray laundry stain remover directly onto the soiled area. Give it a few minutes to sit before blotting carefully with a damp cloth. Depending on the severity of the stain, you may need to repeat this process a few times.
Once stain has been pre-treated, you’ll want to gently wash the garment. For best results, always stick to a mild detergent and cool water cycle. Avoid scrubbing the stain too much as this can cause damage to the delicate fabrics. After washing, allow the garment to air dry. You may need to repeat the pre-treatment and washing process a few more times before the stain disappears completely.
