Soy sauce is a popular condiment in many cultures, but luckily, it shouldn’t be an unwelcome guest on your UGG boots. If you do find that your boots have been soiled with soy sauce, don’t fret – with a few simple steps, your boots can look like new again.
Removing Soy Sauce from UGGs: What You'll Need
Before attempting to remove the stain, make sure you have following supplies on hand:
- A cleaning brush – a toothbrush works well for this.
- A damp, lint-free cloth or scrubber
- White vinegar
- Cold water
- Mild laundry detergent – avoid any detergents with bleach as they can damage the finish of your UGGs.
Cleaning the Stain
Once you’ve gathered your supplies, you can begin the cleaning process. Here’s how:
- Blot as much of soy sauce as you can with a clean, damp cloth before it is absorbed into the material.
- Using a cleaning brush, gently scrub the stain with mild laundry detergent and cold water.
- Rinse the area with cold water and blot with a dry cloth.
- If the stain still remains, mix warm water with a small bit of white vinegar and apply the mixture to stain.
- Once again, use a clean cloth to gently scrub stain, working in circular motions.
- Rinse the area with cold water and blot with a cloth until all of the excess moisture has been removed.
- Allow the boots to air-dry.
With these simple steps, you can get soy sauce stains out of your beloved UGGs in no time!
