Soy sauce is a staple in Asian cooking, but getting it out of your favorite clothing isn’t always easy. If you’ve spilled soy sauce on a tencel garment, don’t panic—here’s how to make sure the stain doesn’t linger:

How To Clean A Soy Sauce Stain from Tencel

  1. Before you attempt to clean stain, first pre-treat it with a stain remover. Look for one that is specifically designed for the type of stain you have. Then, using a clean white cloth, gently dab the stain with the stain remover.
  2. After stain remover has been applied, gently rub the stained tencel fabric together to help loosen the stain. If the stain is still visible, you can use a soft brush to scrub the fabric in circular motions.
  3. Soak fabric in warm water and detergent for about 15 minutes. After that, rinse the stained area thoroughly under running water to remove any residual soap.
  4. Using an absorbent cloth, dry the fabric as much as possible. Do not put the fabric in a dryer until the stain has completely been removed.
  5. If the soy sauce stain still persists, then you can try a stronger stain remover. Gently dab the stain remover onto the stain, and wait for recommended time for product to take effect.
  6. Next, rinse off the stain remover with cool water, and pat area dry. Repeat this step as many times as necessary until the stain is removed.

Following these steps should help you to effectively remove stubborn soy sauce stains from your tencel fabric. Remember: never put tencel fabric in a dryer until the stain is completely eliminated.
