Step 1: Blotting the Stain

Start by blotting stain with a soft, white cloth. The cloth should be damp, not soaking wet, and you should blot the stain inwards so that the soy sauce does not spread. Blotting should be done gently to avoid damaging fabric.

Step 2: Treating with Detergent Solution

Mix one teaspoon of liquid dish detergent with two cups of cold water in a bowl or bucket. Stir until the solution becomes sudsy. Dip the cloth in the solution and then blot the stain moving inwards again. You may need to repeat this step several times, depending on the size and severity of the stain.

Step 3: Rinsing with Cold Water

Once you have finished blotting the stain with the detergent solution, rinse the area with cold water. Use the cloth or a sponge to gently blot the stain until all soap is removed. Be sure to use cold water, as hot water can set the stain in permanently.

Step 4: Using Vinegar Solution

If stain still remains after the rinsing process, try treating it with a vinegar solution. To make solution, mix one-quarter cup of white vinegar with two cups of warm water. Dip the cloth into the solution and then blot the stain. Repeat until the stain has disappeared.

Step 5: Final Rinse

Finally, rinse the area again with cold water and blot until all vinegar solution is removed. Allow the fabric to air dry naturally.
