What You’ll Need:

  • Cold water
  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Oxygen-based bleach
  • White vinegar
  • Stain remover stick

Instructions:

  1. As soon as possible, rinse the stain with cold water. This will help keep the stain from setting in.
  2. Mix together one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent and half a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol. Dip a clean cloth or cotton swab into the solution, making sure it is not over-saturated.
  3. Apply the mixture directly onto the stain. If using a cloth, gently rub the mixture into the stain in a circular motion. Let the mixture sit for approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Blot the area with a wet cloth to remove the mixture. Continue to blot until the stain starts to fade away.
  5. If the stain still remains, mix one tablespoon of oxygen-based bleach with two cups of cold water. Then soak the affected area in the solution for 30 minutes.
  6. Rinse with cold water and repeat steps two through four.
  7. If stain persists, apply a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts cold water to the stained area. Let it stand for five minutes before rinsing again.
  8. Lastly, if the stain still has not budged, try using a stain remover stick. Apply the stick directly to the affected area and allow it to sit for up to 15 minutes.
  9. Gently scrub the area with an old toothbrush and rinse with cold water.

Tips:

  • Always test laundry detergent, rubbing alcohol, and bleach on a small area of the fabric first to ensure there are no discolorations.
  • When using rubbing alcohol, always remember to use in moderation, as heavy amounts can damage fabrics.
