Soy sauce can be a tricky ingredient to handle. Not only is it notoriously hard to get off your hands, but if you spill some on your slippers, they are sure to get stained. Don’t worry though, with the right procedure and a few household items, you can rid your shoes of any soy sauce stain in no time.

First, mix equal parts dish soap and white vinegar in a bowl. Dip the stained area of the slipper into the mixture and let it soak for 10 minutes. This will help to loosen stain, making it easier to remove.
After 10 minutes, remove the slippers from the mixture and use a soft cloth or an old toothbrush to gently brush away the soy sauce stain. Be sure to not scrub too hard, as this could damage the material of slippers.
If the stain is still present, repeat steps 1 and 2 until the stain lifts. If after several tries the stain still remains, you can try using baking soda. Make a paste using equal parts baking soda and water and spread the paste over the stain. Let the paste sit for 10 minutes before brushing it away.
Once the stain is gone, rinse the slippers with clean water. Pat down slippers with a towel and leave them to air dry, or use a blow dryer on its lowest setting to expedite the process.
