The first step is to rinse stain immediately with cool water. This will help stop the stain from setting into fabric. After it has been rinsed, turn the shirt inside out and dab the affected area with a damp cloth or sponge. Be sure not to scrub too hard or you may damage the fabric.
Once the area is softened, treat the stain with dishwashing liquid. Take a few drops and work it into the fabric with your fingers or a soft brush. Then, use a clean cloth to apply some warm water to the area and continue the process of working the soap into the fabric until it is sudsy.
Let area sit for 10 minutes, then rinse the area with cool water. To remove any remaining stain, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water. Soak a clean white cloth in the mixture and wring it out so it’s damp. Gently blot the stained area with the damp cloth until the stain lifts. Rinse the area again with cool water and repeat the process until the stain is gone.
Finally, lay the shirt flat to dry and avoid using heat to dry it. This will help ensure that stain doesn't become permanent.
That's all it takes to remove a soy sauce stain from your sleep shirt! Follow these easy steps and you're sure to have a spotless shirt in no time.
