What You'll Need

  • Bucket
  • Mild detergent
  • Cleaning brush
  • Sponge
  • Soft cloth

Step 1: Pre-Treat

Before you start cleaning, pre-treat the stain with a mild detergent. Apply a small amount of detergent directly onto the soy sauce stain and gently scrub it in using a cleaning brush. Let the detergent sit for 10 minutes so it can work its magic.

Step 2: Fill the Bucket

Fill a bucket halfway with warm water and add a small amount of detergent. Stir the mixture to combine. Place the Skechers into the bucket and let them soak for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Scrub

Once Skechers have been soaking, grab your cleaning brush and thoroughly scrub the stained area of the shoe. The detergent should help to loosen the soy sauce residue and make it easier to remove. Make sure to go over the entire shoe until the stain is gone.

Step 4: Rinse

Remove the shoes from the bucket and rinse them off with clean water. Use a sponge to gently scrub away any remaining detergent residue. Be sure to check the entire shoe to make sure all the soy sauce is gone.

Step 5: Dry

Pat shoes dry with a soft cloth and let them air dry completely before wearing them again. Your Skechers should now be soy sauce stain-free!
