Step 1: Blot the Stain Immediately

The key to getting rid of soy sauce stains is to act fast. As soon as you notice a stain, take a piece of cloth or a paper towel and gently press it onto the stain, soaking up as much of liquid as possible.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain with a Stain-Remover Solution

Once you’ve blotted as much soy sauce as possible, it’s time to use a pre-treatment solution. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl and dip a cloth into solution. Gently blot the stained area until you can see the stain starting to lift.

Step 3: Wash Garment According to Care Instructions

Carefully check the care instructions on your garment before proceeding. Put the garment in a washing machine and use a gentle laundry detergent. Make sure the water is cold and don’t mix it with any other items. Wash the garment on its own.

Step 4: Lay Garment Flat to Dry

Once the garment is done washing, lay it flat on a drying rack or hang it up and let it air dry. Do not use a dryer as this can set the stain. You should now have a soy sauce-free garment!
