If you've found a fresh soy sauce stain on your silk taffeta, it's important to act fast. For this step, you'll need a small bowl of cold water, some white vinegar, and a few drops of mild dish soap. Start by gently dabbing the stained area with cold water. Do not rub or scrub; this will only make the stain worse. Once you've done this, mix a solution of half water and half vinegar in the bowl. Take a fresh cloth and dip it into mixture, then gently pat the stained area until it's covered. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes, then rinse off using cold water.
For dried soy sauce stains, you'll need white vinegar, some rubbing alcohol, and a few drops of laundry detergent. Start by lightly dabbing the stained area with the rubbing alcohol and let it sit for 3 minutes. Next, dip a cloth into the vinegar solution (as described in the previous step) and dab the stain until it's completely saturated. Allow the mixture to sit for another 15 minutes before adding a few drops of laundry detergent directly onto the stain. Gently rub the detergent into the stain and let it sit for another 15 minutes. Finally, rinse off the area with cold water and a clean cloth.
