As soon as the spill occurs, blot it with a paper towel or cloth and remove as much of sauce as possible. If you delay, it will only be more difficult to get the stain out later.
Using a damp cloth or sponge, dampen the affected area with warm water. This will help to loosen the soy sauce and make it easier to remove stain later.
Mix a small amount of detergent with warm water and rub the mixture into the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before gently rubbing the area with a cloth.
After detergent has been applied, rinse the stained area with cold water. This will help to remove any residual detergent and remaining soy sauce.
Mix one part white vinegar with three parts warm water and apply the mixture to the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before blotting with a cloth.
Wash garment as normal. To ensure the stain is gone, hang the item in direct sunlight for an hour or two after washing.
