Getting Soy Sauce Stains Out of Silk Chiffon - Here's How!
Whether it's a stain from a splash at dinner or a spilled soy sauce packet, soy sauce stains on silk chiffon can be tricky to remove. But with the right materials and technique, it can be done.

When it comes to cleaning soy sauce stains from silk chiffon, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Some people find it easiest to take the garment to a dry cleaner, while others prefer to try removing stain at home. If you decide to tackle the stain on your own, here are some tips.
Things you'll need
- Dish soap
- Mild detergent
- Oxygenated bleach
- Soft brush
- White cloth
- Hairdryer (optional)
Instructions
- Blot the spilled soy sauce with a clean white cloth or paper towels to absorb as much as possible. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing the stain or you may spread it.
- Mix a few drops of dish soap in a cup of cold water. Dip a soft brush into the solution and gently brush the stain before rinsing it out with cold water.
- If the stain still remains, mix a few drops of mild detergent in a cup of cold water. Dip a soft brush into the solution and lightly brush the stain before rinsing with cold water.
- Mix a few drops of oxygenated bleach in a cup of cold water and dip a soft brush into the solution. Gently brush the stain then rinse with cold water.
- If stain persists, you can use a hairdryer to blow heat on the stain to help loosen it. (Be careful not to damage the fabric.)
- Repeat the above steps until stain is gone. Once stain is gone, launder the garment according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
If the stain persists after all your efforts, it may be time to call in the professionals. The best way to get soy sauce stains out of silk chiffon is to take the garment to a dry cleaner. Remember to always spot test any stain removal method on an inconspicuous area first.
