Steps for Cleaning Soy Sauce Stains from Rosepoint Lace

  1. Remove the stained area of the fabric from any other materials.
  2. Using cold water, rinse the stain with gentle pressure from the backside of the fabric.
  3. Mix one tablespoon of dish detergent with two cups of cool water.
  4. Gently apply the soapy mixture to the soy sauce stain using a soft-bristled brush.
  5. Rinse out the soap with cold water.
  6. Soak the stained area of fabric in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water for 30 minutes.
  7. Blot the fabric dry with a clean towel or paper towels.
  8. If a stain remains, apply a few drops of hydrogen peroxide with a cotton ball.
  9. Allow the hydrogen peroxide to sit for five minutes and then rinse with cold water.
  10. Gently press the fabric with a clean towel to remove excess moisture.
  11. Allow the fabric to air dry flat.

Tips for stain removal success:

  • Never use hot water when cleaning a fabric – always use cold.
  • Don’t rub or scrub the fabric as this could damage the material.
  • Work the cleaning solution from the back of the fabric for best results.
  • Make sure to rinse the fabric thoroughly to remove all traces of cleaning solution.
