We all love a good stir fry, but unfortunately, soy sauce can leave behind some of the most stubborn stains. Lemon juice makes a surprisingly effective stain remover for soy sauce. The acidity of the juice helps to break down the proteins that make up the sauce, allowing you to scrub away at surface without fear of further staining. To use it, simply mix equal parts water and lemon juice in your pan, allow it to soak for a few minutes, and then scrub at the stain with a stiff brush or sponge.
Vinegar is a natural cleaner that has long been used to break down tough stains. To use it, mix one part white vinegar with two parts water and pour the mixture into the pot or pan. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes before scrubbing at the stain with a sponge or cloth. If the stain persists, you can try adding a bit of baking soda to mixture to further boost its cleaning power.
Borax is an effective and natural stain remover that has been used for decades. To use it, sprinkle a few tablespoons of borax powder onto the stain, then add enough water to create a paste. Use the paste to scrub the stain, and then rinse it off with warm water. Repeat as necessary until the stain is gone.
If all else fails, you can always resort to a commercial cleaner. Most grocery stores carry cleaning products specifically designed for pots and pans, and many of them can tackle even the toughest soy sauce stains. Just be sure to follow the instructions on the product label in order to avoid any damage to the surface of your cookware.
