Accidents are bound to happen, and one of the most common culprits? Soy sauce. If your favorite one-piece swimsuit has fallen victim to a soy sauce spill, there's no need to panic—it's actually pretty easy to get rid of, and only requires a few items from around your home.
What You'll Need:
- A sink or bowl
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Paper towels
- Laundry detergent
- Cold water
Instructions:
- Start by filling your sink or bowl with cold water.
- Mix in 2 tablespoons of baking soda.
- Submerge your one-piece swimsuit in the mixture and let it soak for 20 minutes.
- Once 20 minutes is up, take the swimsuit out and lay it on a paper towel.
- Gently dab the stain with a damp paper towel and some white vinegar.
- Let it air-dry.
- Once it's dry, put the swimsuit in your washing machine with a mild laundry detergent.
- Wash the swimsuit on a gentle cycle with cold water and then hang to dry.
Tips for Success:
- Always use cold water to prevent soy sauce stain from setting into the fabric.
- Scrub gently with the paper towel or else you may do further damage to the fabric.
- Make sure the swimsuit is completely dry before putting it in the washer – running it through a drying cycle can cause more harm than good.
