1. Start by blotting the stain with a clean, dry towel or cloth. Do not rub as this can spread stain further and make it worse.
2. Next, mix together 1 teaspoon each of white vinegar and dish soap in a cup of warm water. Dip a sponge into the solution and apply gently to the stained area. This will help cut through grease and loosen the stain.
3. Rinse off the soap solution with a clean cloth dampened with some more warm water. Then, blot the area with a dry towel or cloth.
4. If any stains remain, mix together equal parts of baking soda and white vinegar and apply mixture to the stain. Let it sit for about 15 minutes before scrubbing gently with a soft bristle brush. Rinse off with warm water and blot dry with a cloth.
5. For stubborn stains, you may need to pre-treat the affected area with a stain remover before following the cleaning instructions mentioned above. If all else fails, it’s best to take the shoes to a professional dry cleaner who will be able to provide specialized care.
