What You'll Need:

  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Large bucket or bowl
  • Soft-bristled brush or toothbrush
  • Clean cloth
  • Paper towels

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. If the stain is wet, promptly blot the excess soy sauce with paper towels.
  2. Mix together a solution of warm water and liquid laundry detergent in the bucket or bowl. Make sure the solution is not too sudsy.
  3. Dip the soft-bristled brush in the solution and use it to gently scrub stain.
  4. Allow the solution to sit on the soy sauce stain for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Rinse stained area of your mules with cold water and pat it dry with a clean cloth.
  6. If the stain persists, mix together equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl and dip the soft-bristled brush into the solution. Gently scrub the stain once more.
  7. Rinse the area with cold water again and allow it to air-dry.

Additional Tips:

  • If possible, treat soy sauce stains as soon as they occur.
  • Be gentle when scrubbing stained area - too much pressure can lead to damage.
