As soon as you notice stain, grab a clean cloth and start blotting. Don’t rub or scrub the stain; this can cause soy sauce to spread and cause more damage. Instead, press down gently and continue blotting until there is no more soy sauce on the cloth.
Mix one part isopropyl alcohol with one part water in a bowl. Soak a few cotton balls in solution and squeeze out the excess liquid. Make sure the cotton balls are damp, not saturated.
Gently dab the stained area with the damp cotton balls. This will help lift the stain from the leather material. Be careful not to scrub or rub the area; simply press the cotton ball against stain and let the solution work its magic.
Mix a few drops of dish soap with water and use a damp cloth to clean area. This will remove any residue from the isopropyl alcohol solution and help prevent the color of the handbag from fading.
Once area has been cleaned, allow it to dry completely before using the handbag. Place it in an area with indirect sunlight and make sure it is away from any direct heat sources.
