What is Jacquard Fabric?

Jacquard is a type of fabric that is tightly woven in a pattern using special looms and an embroidery-style technique. The pattern is first described on a piece of paper, which is then translated onto punch cards used to create the desired pattern on the fabric. You may recognize it because it is most famously used in decoration on upholstered furniture.

How to Remove Soy Sauce Stains

When it comes to removing soy sauce stains from jacquard fabric, it's really no different from removing it from any other material. Follow these simple steps to get your jacquard fabric looking its best again.

  1. The first step in removing a soy sauce stain is to blot as much of the liquid from the surface of fabric with a paper towel or cloth. Be sure to work from the outside of the stain inwards to avoid spreading it further.
  2. Once the excess liquid has been removed, rinse the fabric with cold water and continue to blot the stain with a clean cloth.
  3. If you have any stain remover detergent on hand, such as OxiClean, mix it with warm water and submerge the affected area for 10 minutes. Then, rinse out the solution and use a towel to press the remaining moisture out.
  4. If the stain is still visible after this process, it's time to break out the white distilled vinegar. Mix one part vinegar with two parts warm water and apply it directly to stain. Allow it to sit for five minutes, then rinse with cold water and towel dry.
  5. If the stain still persists, it's time to bring in the heavy artillery. Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of white vinegar to form a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

With a bit of patience, you can usually remove soy sauce stains from jacquard fabric without too much trouble. Just remember to use cold water and be careful to not rub or scrub the stain as this may damage the delicate weave of the fabric.
