As soon as you notice the stain, take a paper towel or a clean white cloth and gently blot the area to help absorb some of the soy sauce. Be careful not to rub the stain as this could spread it further.
Create a mixture of laundry detergent and water and apply it to the soy sauce stain. Massage the detergent in using your fingertips and then let sit for about 10 minutes.
Fill a sink or bowl with warm water and then add in a detergent designed for hand-washing delicate fabrics. Put your jacket in the water and let it soak for about 20 minutes.
Once the jacket has finished soaking, take it out of the water and begin scrubbing the stain for a few minutes using a soft bristled brush. Make sure you’re not too rough or you could damage the fabric.
Rinse the jacket under cold water and then hang it up to dry. Once it’s dry, check the area to make sure that stain is gone. If it’s still there, you may need to repeat the process.
