Soy sauce is a condiment that often gets spilled on clothing, especially the lighter colored fabrics like habutai. If left untreated, it can permanently stain the fabric and ruin its look. But don't worry! Here’s how to remove soy sauce stains from habutai:

  1. First, scrape off any excess soy sauce from the stained area.
  2. Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with 2 cups of cool water in a bowl. Dip a clean rag into this mixture and wring it out.
  3. Blot the stained area with damp rag and then rinse with cold water. Repeat this step until the stain is completely removed. Make sure to change water in the bowl if and when the water becomes discolored.
  4. If the stain still remains, create a paste by mixing together 2 teaspoons of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of cold water. Apply paste over the stained area and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Once the paste begins to dry, brush it off with a damp cloth. Finally, rinse off area with cool water and let it air dry.

You should now be able to remove soy sauce stains from your habutai fabric without any issue. However, if the stain persists, take the garment to a professional dry cleaner as soon as possible.
