Acting fast is key when it comes to removing soy sauce stains. The longer the stain sits, the harder it will be to remove. First, try to soak up as much of the soy sauce as possible by blotting area with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub the stain, as this may spread it and make the stain worse.
Once the excess soy sauce has been blotted away, mix equal parts of dish soap and white vinegar in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth or sponge into solution, then gently rub it onto the stain in a circular motion. Work from the outside of the stain towards center. Be sure not to scrub too hard, as this could damage the fabric.
After the stain has been treated with the soap and vinegar solution, rinse the area with cool water. If the stain persists, repeat the process until it has been removed. Once stain has been completely removed, wash the item according to instructions on its care label.
Some white fabric items may require further treatment. To safely bleach the stain, mix a teaspoon of washing powder with a cup of cold water and apply it to the stain. Allow it to sit for several minutes, then rinse with cool water. Repeat the process if needed.
By taking immediate action and using right cleaning products, you can easily remove soy sauce stains from your georgette garments. With a little effort and patience, you’ll have your favorite clothes looking as good as new.
