Soak your denim item with the stain in cold water for 15 to 30 minutes. This will help loosen the soy sauce from the fabric.
After soaking, transfer your jeans to a sink or basin filled with cold water and add one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent. Swish the jeans around in solution and use a toothbrush to scrub the stain. Scrub gently in order to avoid damaging the fabric.
Once you’ve completed scrubbing, rinse the jeans with a solution of equal parts cold water and white vinegar. You can also use ammonia if it's all that you have available. Soak the jeans for 5-10 minutes before rinsing away solution with cold water.
Finally, launder the jeans as usual and hang to dry. Repeat the steps until the stain is completely gone.
