Accidentally spilling soy sauce on your favorite shirt is never fun. But don’t worry, removing soy sauce stains from cotton oxford clothes is not as hard as you might expect. With only a few household items and some patience, you can easily get rid of those pesky stains in no time.
The first step to removing any kind of stain is always same: blot the stain immediately. Do not rub or scrub the stain; this could cause the stain to spread and sink deeper into the fabric. Instead, quickly grab a clean cloth or paper towel and blot the stained area.
Once you’ve blotted the stain, the next step to remove soy sauce stains from cotton oxford clothes is to apply a generous amount of shaving cream to the spot. Use a wet cloth to distribute the cream evenly over the stain. Let the shaving cream sit for at least 30 minutes.
Once the shaving cream has had a chance to sit, rinse it off with cold water. Make sure to rinse both sides of the garment as well, as soy sauce stains can spread easily. If the stain is still visible, repeat process until the stain is gone.
Once stain is removed, launder the garment as normal. If the stain persists, use a pre-treater like Oxi-Clean before laundering.
