The first step is to get rid of as much of soy sauce as possible. Use a paper towel to lightly blot at the stain, without rubbing it in further. Next, if you have time to allow the stain to soak, pour a bit of water on the stain and let is steep for five minutes before blotting it dry. If you need a fast solution, mix a tablespoon of liquid dishwashing soap and two tablespoons of white vinegar with a cup of lukewarm water. Soak a cloth in the mixture and then dab it over the stain.
Once the soy sauce has been blotted away, it's time to deal with any remaining residue. Prepare a paste by adding a quarter of a cup of baking soda to a few tablespoons of water; apply it onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing it off and washing the dress as usual.
If the stain won't budge, you can try spot-treating it with rubbing alcohol before washing your dress. Be sure to spot test the area first to make sure your garment can handle the rubbing alcohol, and take precautions such as wearing rubber gloves and wiping off excess alcohol from the dress. After you've applied the rubbing alcohol, pop it in the washer but this time use a laundry detergent instead of dish soap.
Finally, if the stain doesn't come out after all that you can always turn to commercial stain removers like OxiClean or a product designed specifically for tough greasy stains. Be sure to follow instructions on the packaging and always do a spot test before attempting to treat the entire stain.
