How to Handle Soy Sauce Stains on Your Coat

Spilling soy sauce on a coat can be an absolute nightmare. But don’t worry, you can easily get rid of the stain with these simple steps!

Removing Fresh Soy Sauce Stains

  1. Blot the stain with a clean, absorbent cloth or paper towel.
  2. Mix a tablespoon of detergent with two cups of cold water.
  3. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and dab gently into stain.
  4. Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water.
  5. If the stain persists, repeat the process until it’s no longer visible.
  6. Once satisfied, hang the coat to air dry.

Removing Set-In Soy Sauce Stains

  1. Mix a solution of 1 quart of warm water, 1 teaspoon of liquid dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar.
  2. Dip a cloth in the solution and blot the stain, turning cloth over to clean areas as needed.
  3. Rinse the stained area with a cloth dampened in hot water and blot dry.
  4. If the stain persists, mix a paste using 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of cold water.
  5. Rub the paste directly onto the stain and let sit for 20 minutes.
  6. Once finished, rinse off the paste and blot dry.
  7. Hang the coat to air dry.
