Removing soy sauce stains from clothes can be done with items typically already in home. Start by applying cold or warm water directly to the area of the stain. Blot with a clean cloth or rag until more of the stain has been lifted off the material. Be careful not to scrub too hard, as this could lead to additional damage to garment.
Next, add a bit of dish soap to a bowl filled with lukewarm water. Swish the solution around and then dip a clean cloth into mixture. Gently blot stain with this soapy cloth until you see more of stain lifting away.
At this point, it's a good idea to test the material for color-fastness before you attempt to use any chemicals. Put a few drops of the dish soap solution in an inconspicuous spot on the coat. Allow the material to dry and then check to make sure there are no signs of discoloration or damage. If you don't notice anything, you can proceed.
Using a clean cloth, dab at the stained area with a solution of white vinegar and cold water. Make sure to use equal amounts of each. Blot gently at area, taking care not to scrub or rub too hard. When you think you have gotten as much of stain out as possible, rinse the area with cold water and allow the garment to air dry.
If, after all of your efforts, the stain persists, you may want to take the garment to a professional cleaner. This should do the trick and ensure that your coat looks as good as new.
