If your canvas has fallen victim to an accidental splash of soy sauce, never fear. Removing stain is easier than you think. Here's how to do it:

  • Gently scrape off any excess soy sauce with a spoon or butter knife.
  • Mix one teaspoon of a detergent containing enzymes with one quart of cold water.
  • Dip a clean cloth in the mixture and gently blot the stained area.
  • Rinse affected area with cold water, and then air dry.
  • If the stain persists, mix together one tablespoon of white vinegar and one cup of warm water. Use a clean cloth to wipe area, and then rinse and air dry.
  • For really stubborn stains, make a paste of two parts baking soda and one part water. Gently rub the paste onto the stain and let it sit for one hour before either washing or wiping clean with a damp cloth.

Cleaning soy sauce stains from canvas can be tricky, but with the right supplies and some elbow grease, it can definitely be done. Just remember to use a gentle touch and not scrub too hard, or you could end up damaging your canvas fabric.
