What You Need
- Dishwashing liquid
- White vinegar
- Cold water
- Cloth
- Oxygen bleach
Steps
- Soak the stained area in cold water to rinse off any excess soy sauce. Do not rub or scrub the stain! This will just push the stain deeper into the cloth.
- Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar and a few drops of dishwashing liquid in a bowl of lukewarm water. Dip the cloth into this solution and dab stained area gently.
- Rinse the soapy solution off with cold water.
- If the stain still remains, mix some oxygen bleach with warm water in a clean bucket. Submerge the stained area of fabric in the bucket and leave it there for 10-15 minutes.
- Once done soaking, rinse off with cold water. If stain has not completely disappeared, repeat the above steps.
Tips
- Always check the care instructions of your brocade fabric before cleaning.
- Be sure to use cool or lukewarm water while removing the soy sauce stains as hot water can set the stain into fabric.
- Never use hot water or put your brocade fabric in dryer while the stain is still present, as this will make stain permanent.
